In a heartwarming display of gratitude, Travis Barker, the renowned Blink-182 drummer, expressed his appreciation for his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, for enabling him to conquer his fears and resume flying following a devastating plane crash in 2008.
Taking to Instagram’s Threads app, Barker shared the milestone of flying for the 30th time since the tragic incident. He attributed his ability to tour and enjoy life once more to the healing love of his remarkable wife, stating, “Wouldn’t be able to tour or enjoy life again the way I do without the healing love of my amazing wife. I love you @kourtneykardash.”
On September 19, 2008, Barker, then 47 years old, survived a harrowing plane crash while returning to Los Angeles from South Carolina. Tragically, his assistant, Chris Baker, security guard Charles “Che” Still, and both pilots lost their lives in the crash. His close friend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein survived the initial accident but succumbed to a prescription drug overdose a year later.
Barker himself endured extensive injuries, including third-degree burns on over half of his body. The recovery process involved 27 surgeries to repair the damage. Reflecting on the horrifying experience during a 2019 episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Barker recalled the intense pain caused by being drenched in jet fuel when he jumped from the burning plane.
Following the incident, Barker was plagued by a deep aversion to flying for over a decade. However, his life took a transformative turn when he began a relationship with Kardashian, whom he married in May 2022.
